Solaris

Adapted by David Greig from Stanisław Lem’s novel, Solaris was an exciting new play in artistic director Rachel O'Riordan’s inaugural season at the Lyric. Working directly with photographer Helen Maybanks, the concept was based around peering out of the window of a space craft at an alien world, the light from the planet striking the eye of lead actor Polly Frame. The final image and design had a distinctly eerie science fiction aesthetic.
